Royal Oak, a leader in the furniture industry, operates a large warehouse complex consisting of old and new sections. While the old warehouse had an active internet connection, the newly constructed warehouse did not want to face any major connectivity issues similar to the ones faced at old warehouse. Competing vendors recommended deploying 25–30 indoor Wi-Fi access points, leading to high project costs and suspicious performance. Royal Oak sought a reliable, budget-conscious solution for seamless Wi-Fi in the new warehouse.
Solution Journey
Initial Assessment & Discovery
Our team carried out a comprehensive site inspection and discovered:
- Internet was only available in the old warehouse.
- A secure, high-performance solution was needed to bridge the connectivity gap and ensure strong, uninterrupted Wi-Fi in the new warehouse.
- Performed Heat Mapping to ascertain required devices details.
Proactive Response & Upgrade
Instead of costly, hardware-heavy proposals, we implemented a smart, minimalistic approach:
- Laid underground CAT6 cable to extend the internet backbone from the old to the new warehouse.
- The cable was terminated at the new warehouse’s first network rack, connected to a Ruijie managed switch.
- Deployed five Ruijie outdoor Wi-Fi access points strategically across the new warehouse, delivering superior coverage and eliminating dead spots.
- Outstanding Coverage: Outdoor access points achieved robust signal strength throughout the new warehouse, with zero signal drops.
- Optimized Infrastructure: Reduced equipment from the proposed 25–30 indoor units to just 5 outdoor APs.
- Cost Savings: Delivered the solution at a fraction of competing vendor quotations.
- Simplicity: Clean, scalable, and easy-to-maintain network layout.
Expansion & Client Satisfaction
Recognizing the success and exceptional performance of the new warehouse rollout, Royal Oak requested us to upgrade the old warehouse’s Wi-Fi infrastructure as well. At a later stage, we were given the opportunity to replace the old warehouse’s existing Wi-Fi access points with the same reliable Ruijie outdoor models used in the new warehouse, unifying the connectivity standard across the entire facility.
